Attention All Website Owners who are Technically Challenged

I want to begin this by stating, I am not a technical guru. I am only a RN with a vision to help those who lack resources and knowledge to improve their health and wellness by offering them tools. I know how to keep you alive if your heart stops or your are bleeding profusely, but if you need help with your sites html - I am not your girl!
I actually have a degree in business and am finding, that I am really not that bad at this entrepreunerial thing; I've got a couple successfull business start-ups under my belt now and I am successfully running  4  profitable businesses.
I have to admit, this technical part of designing and building websites, html, keywords, search engine optimization, social media, on and on... It makes me totally dizzy! I like to think I am an intelligent person, but there are times, I can't even work our remote control right with all systems - the surround sound, satellite dish, DVD and Tivo! I call myself "electronically challenged" and I cant count how many times, I've heard the IT guys at my day job, remark as I explain to them a problem I'm having, "hmmm... I've never seen that happen before...."
That is not very reassuring to say the least...
Due to having a no dollar budget for my start-up businesses, I had to teach myself how to do all of the website design and development and I am not really sure if I am doing it right! It's been a long tough journey, that has been chucked full of errors, mistakes and lessons learned....
I search for resources and tools all the time online, but to tell you the truth, I wouldn't know if they are a credible source to save my life.
I wonder how many others have been on this same journey? Did they share the same tribulations, only to find themself finally feeling confident and actually understanding this stuff after a while?
I have read about Google banning websites based on certain criteria found within the site. When I read this, it gave me chest pain! I immediately worry what happens if I accidently do something Google deems unacceptable and then bans me? I mean, what do you do if you get banned by Google, they have the power of Greek Gods to me! You just do not get anymore important than Google and if they ban your site, what would you do? Can you call the Google banned website department and explain to them I am just a Nurse not a website designer?
My business would surely be ruined if Google banned me, I can assume it'd feel like going into the post office and seeing your mug up on the wall for one of the FBI's most wanted list!
Today, as I was trying to figure out shopping cart options - I came across a quick and easy tool that is free that checks if Google has kicked your website to the curb. I quickly entered my website ip and held my breath waiting for the analysis to finish...
....OK, a huge sigh of relief washed over me as I saw my site is fine and not banned. If you would like the same security, feel free to visit the link below and use this free tool to check your site out.
If you can please post a response if you use a free tool that can be helpful to us that are not highly gifted as an IT expert - I am interested in others who find them self where I am and how they get thru all of this on a shoestring budget? Maybe I need to consult my website building for Dummies book?
